OCEAN STATE CLASSIC LACROSSE TOURNAMENT

Playoff Format

Men’s Open Division
  • There will be two groups of four teams each in a division.  The winner and one runner-up from each group will qualify for the divisional quarterfinal playoffs.  
     
  • Playoff qualification in each group is calculated by

    1) Best record
    2) head to head match-ups
    3) spread between goals for and goals against with a maximum of 7
    4) goals against
    5) coin flip
  • The #1 seed plays the #4 seed and the #2 seed plays the #3 seed in each division.   Playoff seeds in each divisional quarterfinal are calculated by:

    1) Best record
    2) spread between goals for and goals against with a maximum of 7
    3) goals against

    4) coin flip.
Men’s Grand Masters
  • There will be two groups of four teams each in this division.  The winner and one runner-up from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals.  

  • Playoff qualification in each group is calculated by:

    1) Best record
    2) head to head match-ups
    3) spread between goals for and goals against with a maximum of 7
    4) goals against
    5) coin flip

  • The #1 seed plays the #4 seed and the #2 seed plays the #3 seed.   Playoff Seeds in the quarterfinal are calculated by:

    1) Best record
    2) spread between goals for and goals against with a maximum of 7

    3) goals against
  • 4) coin flip.
 
Boy’s High School
  • There will be three divisions of four teams each.  The winner and one runner-up from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals.  

  • Playoff qualification in each group is calculated by

    1) Best record
    2) head to head match-ups
    3) spread between goals for and goals against with a maximum of 7
    4) goals against
    5) coin flip

     
  • The #1 and #2 Seeds get a bye in the first playoff round.   The #3 seed plays the #6 seed and the #4 seed plays the #5 seed in the quarterfinals.  Playoff Seeds are calculated by:

    1) Best record
    2) spread between goals for and goals against with a maximum of 7
    3) goals against

    4) coin flip.

  • The #1 seed plays the lowest seed from the quarterfinal in the semi-final and the #2 seed plays the higher seed from the quarterfinals in the semi-final.
